BISHOP SUED
CRITICISM OF SHELTERS CEMENT GROUP ISSUES WRIT [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyrightj LONDON. sth December. The British Cement Federation has issued a writ against the Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt. Rev. E. W. Barnes, as the result of a speech on 30th November, in which the bishop attacked air raid shelters as ' a misery and a menace.” and added: “If the head of Britain’s new cement group lived in Germany he would now be in a concentration camp.” The bishop also urged control of the cement 'industry.
