TWO MEN KILLED

CAB HITS STATIONARY TRUCK [United Press Association] WANGANUI. 17th November. Two men were killed when a motorcar collided with a stationary motortruck on the Bulls-Greatford Road near Bulls racecourse last night. They Herbert Mexted Blunden, farm hand, aged 29, single, Kakariki. Alfred lan Armitage, farm hand, aged 18, single, Rongotea. The accident occurred at about 11 p.m. The driver of the car was Private Percy Wotton, who was returning from Marton to Trentham Military Camp. Mr Blunden had pulled his truck up on the side of the road and was sitting on the running board talking to Mr Armitage, who had been cycling, when Private Wootton’s car struck them.

Mr Blunden held a commission in the Manawatu Mounted Rifles.
