A vacation school for pupils of the correspondence school will be held at New Plymouth from Bth to 20th May. | The headmaster. Mr Butchers, said ! to-day that the splendid hostels of the I Girls’ and Boys’ High Schools there. ! had been made available and it was estimated that 200 pupils of the Corre- : spondence School would attend from I both islands. They will travel in charge ,of members of the teaching staff. They ‘will rub shoulders with one another and | enjoy healthy exercises and sports, and j there will be an opportunity for practical j work in handcraft, woodwork, needlei craft, cooking, typewriting. art and I scientific experiments, singing and band Uvork etc., in preparation for a concert at the end of the school. Nature study rambles and historical and geographical excursions w'ill be undertaken. Concession railway fares-will be given by the Railway Department and the Education Department is allowing either 7s 6d a w'eek boarding allowance or actual travelling expenses, a maximum of 22s fid.
