BRIGHTWATER

TITOKI TENNIS CLUB The annual general meeting of the Titoki Tennis Club was held at Mr B. L. Walker’s residence. A note of apology was received from the president, Mr F. C. Page, and Mr L. M. Palmer presided over a well-attended meeting. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. After paying for a new hard court (which was laid down last month) a small credit balance remains. Officers elected for the ensuing year were as follows: — Patron: Mr T. Newman (re-elected). President: Mr F. C. Page (re-elect-ed). Vice-presidents: Messrs L. M. Palmer and B. L. Walker. Secretary and treasurer: Mr S. V. Everett. Assistant-secretary: Mr R. Moulder. Management committee: Mesdames Kearns, Marshall, Messrs Ford, Moulder and Kearns. Selection committee: Messrs Ford and Everett and the junior captain. Social committee: Mesdames Marshall and Kearns, Miss B. Pearless, Messrs Kearns, Moulder and Walker. Delegates to Association: Messrs Palmer and Everett. Auditor: Mr R. Moulder. Club captain: Mr R. Ford (reelected). It was decided to open the courts on Saturday, 17th inst., and a hearty welcome is extended to players from other clubs. One senior and one junior team are to be entered in the Association competitions. A hearty vote of thanks was extended to the Rainbow Club, to Mrs Marshall and Mr Ford and to Mr and Mrs Walker for the valuable assistance they have given the club. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded a most enthusiastic meeting.
