A RESUMED CORRESPONDENCE (Ry Air Mail—From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON, 3rd September. A young friend of mine who keDt up a correspondence with a fellowundergraduate in Italy found the 'otters suddenly cease some months ago. with an obscure hint that for a servant of the Italian Government (as he now is) it was inadvisable to be in communication with this Country. The correspondence has now been resumed. The first letter contained—no doubt for the benefit of the censor, if he is still active—an expression of regret that misunderstanding should have arisen between the two countries, but, of course, the fault had been on the British side. Knowing his correspondent’s political views, m> friend smiled, and when he replies he will make an equally innocuous comment on public affairs. It is significant that young Italians should again deem it safe to have British correspondents
