COLLINGWOOD WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

BUSINESS AT OCTOBER MEETING There was a good attendance of members at the October meeting of the Collingwood Women’s Institute. The president, Mrs Stallard, presided. Two new members were welcomed. The business part of the meeting included voting on the remits of the half-yearly council meeting. It was also resolved to hold a “bring and buy” at the next monthly meeting in aid if the Health Camp campaign. ? Mrs Stallard gave an interesting demonstration on “Home Made Gifts.” The motto wa.s, “To do little is bad, to do nothing is worse,” and roll-call, “The part of the Aspirations I like best.” The taking from the sales table considerably augmented the delegates expenses fund. The cane work competition ”'as won by Mrs Tyree, while Miss Tyree came second. A special prize was awarded to Mrs Casey in the same .section. Rest nut loaf was won by Mrs Stallard, with Mrs Casey second.

A very dainty afternoon tea was served by (lie hostesses. Mesdames W. Solly senr.. and P. W. Tyree.
