ROWING SEASON

FAVOURABLE CONDITIONS FOR OPENING Conditions on Saturday were the most favourable for four years for the opening of the rowing season locally and a very successful start of the season was made at the Port when Mr Nelson Harley, president of the Nelson Rowing Club, declared the season open. A crew from Blenheim was present and the president expressed appreciation of the sporting spirit of the Blenheim people in comingthrough for the opening. Several crews went out and had enjoyable rows on the harbour. The official opening of the Blenheim rowing season takes place next Saturday and an endeavour is to be made to send a crew from Nelson.
