MARKET HIGHER THAN LAST WEEK iCmced Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 13th January. At the wool sales 12,609 hales were offered and 12,251 sold; also 1328 privately. The market was par to 5 per cent, higher compared with last week s closing rates. Competition was keep from the Japanese, Yorkshire and Continental sections, with good support from local users. Greasy merino sold to 31d. Last week’s average price was £lB 5s per bale, or 15.1 d per lb. AT PERTH (Received 14th January, 11.30 a.m.) PERTH, This Day. At the wool sales competition was exceptionally keen, Bradford and Japan forcing the prices up. An advance of fully 5 per cent, over all was recorded to-day.
