ELECTRICAL STORM
WORST WITHIN LIVING MEMORY THAMES RESIDENTS ALARMED (By Telegraph—Press Association) THAMES, This Day. The worst electrical storm experienced at Thames within living memory raged over the district for more than half an hour from 9.45 last night. Exceptionally vivui and continuous flashes of lightning, the heavy roil of thunder, and a deluge of rain and hail alarmed residents, particularly when lightning caused failure of the power supply. During the height of the storm the whole town was illuminated by flashes. The storm passed as rapidly as it came. The power supply was restored within an hour except for one portion served b" a sub-station, which was put out of action by lightning.
Despite the intensity of the storm no reports of serious damage or casualties have been received.
