This Day

A representative of the “Sydney Morning Herald,” using a. speedboat, located the Japanese vessel which had been reported off Barrier Reef, and which on account of its elusiveness has been generally called the “mystery sampan.” The craft is not a samnan but a vessel of the slipper type. The Japanese captain permitted the correspondent to uo aboard and stated be bad done nothing wrong, having come for trochus shell only, and, if the police pursue him, rather than surrender his \essel he would dynamite it without any concern for his life or the lives of the crew.
