ONE-THIRD OUT OF WORK APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 25th May, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, 24th May. The National Maritime Board, representing the owners and seamen of the mercantile marine, sent a resolution to Mr Runciman in connection with the World Economic Conference, pointing out that one-tljird of Britain’s seamen are unemployed, and urging the Government to do its utmost to remove disabilities in British shipping resulting from foreign subsidies and flag discriminations.
