DEATH FROM THIRST
‘ 130 SOMALIS DESIRE TO REMAIN BRITISH SUBJECTS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 25th May. 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, 24th May. “The Times” Nairobi correspondent states that 130 Somali men, women and children died of thirst in crossing from Jitbaland province into Kenya. They are a section of the populace desiring to remain British subjects as they were before the secession of the province to Italy, and set out to migrate into Kenya. They divided into two parties, one of which arrived safely. A search for the other party revealed that 130 had died, while the remainder were in a distressing condition.
