WINDJAMMERS’ VOYAGES
A RECORD TRIP (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 25th Mav. 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, 24th May. The windjammer Parma arrived at Falmouth in the record time of 83 days, the best trip since the Marlborough Hall’s 89 days in 1921. Captain Duckloux, his face wreathed in smiles, declared : “The trip was so short that it seems we have not been at sea. The weather was beautiful.” The Penang also arrived after 122 days, having experienced bad weather off Buenos Aires. She lost a lifeboat. The ship Viking arrived at Queenstown in 107 days, being the ninth wind jammer to reach port.
