AIR TRAVEL INCREASED TRAFFIC FROM CROYDON (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 12th August The extremely rapid growth of air travel is shown by the fact that- whereas thirteen years ago only 20 passengers left Croydon in an average week now >2OOO leave the airport weekly. This increase promises to be rapidly exceeded. In the first six months of this year Imperial Airways carried 30,000 passengers from Croydon alone- as many as the total carried during the whole of last year. It is now possible to book by air from Croydon for 130 Continental centres apart from Empire services.
