Despite criticism levelled at him in certain Labour quarters '"or his recent eulogy of the Minister of Public Works, Mr Lee Martin, Labour M.P. for Raglan, is not deterred from voicing his '■pinions. Last night spcrdung at Raghi'i Town Hall on the occasion of the visit ■if the Minis!er of Education, (the Hon. 11. Atmore) he paid a tribute to him, describing him as one of the best Mi'i istcrs of Education New Zealand ever had. Mi Martin, aftei giving special praise ;o Mr Atmore's work as head of the Scientific Research Department, added that he could honestly pay tins tribute without feeling that .ie wa- in any way "soft-soaping" or "back-tub-bing." He was a poor sort of man who could not give credit wheie ccdit was due, even though that .vedit'was to a political opponent.
