Spencer, field geologist, who made the recent oil strike at Murchison reports that the casing is now plugged, but oil and gas are freely emanating from outside the casing. A syndicate composed of Auckland business men have filed applications for 1000 acres under the title of the Warwick River Oil Syndicate. Another syndicate of Australian business men have applied for a further 1000 acres in the name of J. D. Prophet, Civil Engineer, Sydney, the title of this syndicate being the Green Valley Oil Syndicate, Sydney. A further application has been tiled on behalf of a Sydney syndicate for another 1000 acres.
