The Rev. D. and Mrs McCosh and family returned to Nelson yesterday afternoon from a holiday trip to Dunedin. The General Secretary of tilie New Zealand Baptist Union, Rev. M. W. P. Lascelles, is at present on a visit to Nelson. He will be the preacher at the local Baptist Church to-morrow. iMr W. Dee, who is a member of the New Zealand bowling team to England, leaves Nelson on Thursday. He will be accompanied by Mrs Dee. A comprehensive iiineraiy has been mapped out for the tourists, who will be absent for about nine months. On the way Home matches will be played at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. At Suez the bowlers will disembark and spend some time in Egypt, visiting among other places, the Pyramids. Leaving Port Said, Toulon will be the next port, from where a three weeks’ visit to the Continent has been arranged, including Berlin. After playing matches in England, Scotland and "Wales, the, return trip will be made via Canada and the United .States. While in America three weeks will be spent in California, where the. game of bowls has only recently been started. The party, 40 in number, will be taken charge, of by Californian residents during their stay in that Stale. 'Mr and Mrs Dee will he wished a pleasant trip and a safe return. Mr Rogers, Nelson representative of Hie Texaco Oil Company, lias been transferred on promotion to the - North Island. Wainui House visitors include: Miami Mrs T. Dennison, Ireland; Misses F. and D. Wood, Miss W. George, Invercargill; Mr A. L. Pratt, Gore; Miami Airs Burton, Mrs Pagan, Airs Symons, Mr Symons, junr., Christchurch ; Mrs D. S. Myers and children, Mr and Mrs J. H. Sanders, Miss K. Redgrave, Miss E. Berry, Mr Marlin, Mr and Airs Kinvig, Miss L. Denton, Mrs Kinvig, senr., Mrs F. Maclean, Master Maclean.
