A deputation of unemployed Maltese migrants waited on the Premier, iMr flu tier, and complained that their dole of 10s 6d weekly had been stopped. They

said that many of them were returned soldiers. They did not want charily, but work. At" least, a hundred Maltese were destitute. They had no money and little clothing. Mr Butler replied that the Government had decided to discontinue the dole, which was granted by a previous (lovernmenl. in order to place all tinemployed on the svnne level.
