LAST YEAR'S AVERAGES Although the season is now considerably past, we have been asked from several quarters for the averages for senior matches for last year, and to preserve the continuity of the records which have been published for many years, wo append the best averages of players for senior championship matches only. Owing to some of the score books having gone astray it. has not been possible to compile them before. The championship matches, were considerably interfered with owing to Hawke and Newman Shield matches and also through College being out of the competitions from the middle of December on account of •lie school being closed. BATTING Kemnitz (Athletic) 44 Neale (Old Boys) 39 Saxon (Old Boys) 38 Langboin (Wakatu) 35 Fletcher (Athletic) 27 Biggar (College) 26 BOWLING Gihlin (Wakaluj 20 wickets at. 7.95 Fletcher (Athletic) 41 wickets at 8.17 Mdlwraith (Wakatu) 18 wickets at 8.7 Neale (Old Boys) 16 wickets at 10.4 S. Newman (College) 18 wickets at 10.5 Hull (Athletic) 14 wickets at 11.5 Louisson (Athletic) 16 wickets at 11.6 J. Newman (O.B.) J 6 wickets at 12.6 Langboin scored most runs in the senior competition with 315 including scores of 105 and 98. Saxon scored 128 in the- first match, Kemnitz 73 not out and 69 not out. Noale 73 and 69, Fletcher 66. The best bowling figures xvere those of Fletcher who took 7 for 5 against College. ’ - We hope to publish the complete' Hawke Cup averages next week.
