DECLINE IN STERLING

NEW- YORK,- Aug. 12

Liquidation on the London market, where tbo holder of sterling is realising the profit afforded by the recent rise, caused sterling to reach 453|, representing an overnight decline, of three cents. Continental exchange remained stationary. Observers anticipate a renewed advance in sterling as soon as the temporary liquidation is completed.
