BRITAIN’S EXPENDITURE,

LONDON, May 21
Mr Chamberlain, speaking in the House of Commons, said that the net cost of the war to Britain, excluding the normal peace expenditure and loans to the- Allies and the Dominions, to the end of March was £6,700,000,000.
ADJUSTMENT OF ANGLO-AMERI-CAN CLAIMS.

WASHINGTON, May 13,
The settlement of the Anglo-Ameri-can claims arising out of wax operations does not account for the United States’ payments to Britain, or the British carriage of American troops to Europe. A separate settlement is pending for the latter.
