PREFERENCE BILL
STATEMENT BY MR -BONAR LAW. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, March 25. Mr Bonar Law, (leader of the House of Commons), said the ■Government intended to fulfil in le.ter and spirit Mr. Lloyd George’s to protect key industries, it would carry an Imperial Preference Bill, which was now ready, to prevent dumping. But a oomple e examination was necessary regarding other industries. There was no guarantee that the war would have been won wi'hout the ’troops. Therefore no one was able to say now that Imperial preference would not be useful to the Empire. - The Government would survey the entire field and then present the House with its complete policy.
IMPORTANCE OF IMPERIAL PREFERENCE. (Rec. March 27, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, .March Zb. Mr Bonar Law, in the House of Commons, said that Imperial Preference would be carried out a:, the earliest possible moment. H e emphasised the argument that preference to sugar would increase 'lmperial production. Victory was impossible wi'hout the Dominions, therefore any increase in the Dominions' productive powers and man-power would be a good thing for Britain herself.
