Further details have been received regarding the wreck of the American four-masted schooner Espada 'which went ashore on what is known as Barrier Reef, about 2 or 3 miles north of Mumbaltu Island, about 16 nuke from The schooner was loaded with 830 tons of copra forrihe stores of Morns Hedstrom Ltd. and left harbour at U a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, bound for San Francisco, The vessel went ashore m a ram squall and took the reef h a rd and fast, 'but no lives were lost. The cargo of copra was worth about £35,000 and the vessel about £15,000. The scene of the wreck was not mr from where S.S. Syria wap wrecked when several hundreds of Indian# lost their lives. , The wreck was sold by Lloyds agent for £6lO, the purchasers being Messrs Philip 444 Co. k
