UPPER MOUTERE.
ROAD BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Upper .Mothers Road Board was /held on Saturday, all members being present. 1 Air Beuko was in the chair. The minutes were read and accounts passed for £31 Is sd. Correspondence. — From the Department of Labour, Wellington, copy of gazetted list of statutory half-holi-days; from the Valuation Department, Wellington, pointing out that under the Act no member could act for the Board on the Assessment Court; from the County Clerk, forwarding particulars of scale of payments for small bird destruction; from the contractors, Neudorf-Dovedale road works, applying for a fortnight's extension of time on account of delay caused by unfavourable weather. Resolutions passed. — That the application for extension of time be granted the contractors; that Mr H. R. Thompson be askr-d to represent the district on the Assessment Court; that the County Council's scale of pay■itnt for birds and eggs be adopted; that the new formation in Supplejack Valley he gravelled; that the Blackbird Valley road be repaired at cost of £7; that £4 be expanded en Deepdale-road, Rising Sun Valiey, and £6 on Gar'd-ner's-ioad, from the junction downwards
