ATTEMPTED UESCUE AND A NARROW ESCAPE. [United Press Association.] CARTER-TON, Tuesday. Burnett, a sawmilis employee, who .vas drowned in the Wainuioro" river, was swimming horses in a deep pool, and fell )ff on.\ A comrade named Bassett jumpid in to rescue Burnett, and was grabbed jy the deceased, who could not swim, md Basselt also was nearly drowned. Die body of Burnett was recovered by ishing with hooked lines.
