; RAIN AND EARTHQUAKES AT TONGA. [United Peess Association.] AUCKLAND, Thursday. Tongan news states .that a violent thunderstorm occurred at Nukualofa on April 16th, when the low-lying portions of the town were converted into lakes. The Government gauge reeistered 17.22 inches. Rain and wet weather has interfered greatly with the copra industry. A severe shock of earthquake of the three-barrelled variety occurred at Nukualofa on April 7th, but no damage was done to dwellings.
