Ten Plays Will Be Presented By Drama League Shortly

On Monday, September 12, and the following Wednesday, the annual Drama Festival will be held in the Rangiora Town Hall (as advertised on the front page of this issue). The following are the plays to be presented: Monday— Sefton B, "Albert Gates"; Waipara, "Get It At Denby's" ; Rangiora A, "Blind Man's Buff"; Oxford No. 2, "The Folly of Faith"; Amberley, "Tarnish." The first two are in the B section, and the last three in the A section. AVednesday Oxford No. 1, "The Charlady and the Angel"; Rangiora B, "Keeping Up Appearances"; Sef ton A, "Beyond the Walls"; View Hill, "The Chistenirig"; Kaiapoi, "Smoke Screens." The second play is in the B grade, the others in A grade. Readers are reminded that the first annual ball of the Rangiora Branch of the Canterbury Infantry Regiment is to be held next Monday night. A feature will be the presence of the Regimental Band in their scarlet and black uniforms. The band will parade in the streets prior to the ball, and afterwards contribute a few of the dance items. The decorations will be a special attraction, and the Drill Hall is expected to look the best it has for many a year. A Citizen's Ball is advertised to be held in the Fernsidte Schoolroom on September 9th, at which a good time is assured all patrons. The Rangiora Brass Band will give a band concert in Victoria Park on Sunday next. The concert mence a£ 2.30 p.m. 'W The result of the R.S.A. Ladies' Auxiliar3 r 's blanket competition is announced on the front page. The Woodend Spring Flower Show is to be held in the Woodend Hall on Saturday, September 24th. An advertiser will build a modern home for an approved tenant.
