Boy Injures Knee On Broken Bottle

Careless discarding of a beer bottle resulted in a nasty accident at Kensington Park on Monday afternoon. Leaving the grandstand to play in a High School inter-house Rugby match, Warren Jones fell, his knee coming in contact with a broken beer bottle, pieces of which were strewn about the step. The knee was deeply cut, and instead of playing in the match, the boy was taken to his home in Deveron Road, where he received medical attention. It was at first feared that a piece of glass may have lodged in the knee, but the wound is now healing satisfactorily. X-ray photography is not regarded as effective where beer-bottle glass, which contains no lead, is involved.
