Power From Atom
ADELAIDE, Tue. (1.30 p.m.).—“With the information and knowledge of such men as Marcus Oliphant, a beginning is eminently feasible,” said Sir Kerr Grant, former professor of physics at Adelaide University, commenting on the Minister of Post-war Reconstruction (Mr Dedman’s) proposal to submit a plan to Cabinet for development of • industrial power from atomic energy. He warmly commended the plan, but added that the production of atomic power on a commercial scale must not be expected for some years.
