RAF Attack On Cornered Bandits
SINGAPORE, Wed. (11.20 a.m.). Two hundred Communist terrorists are believed to be trapped in a valley 30 miles north of Ipoh, which was blitzed yesterday and last night by every plane the RAF in Malaya could muster.
Strong military and police forces moved into the area today, and results of the action are awaited.
Harvard training planes and Sunderland flyingboats were called into action with Spitfires and Beautighters for on all-out air offensive on what is reported to be the best bandit target the RAF has attacked. JUNGLEMEN’S REVENGE Reuters Singapore correspondent says two Sakai women were killed, throe Sakai men wounded and eight others (three mm and five women) abducted in bandit attacks on Ivampong, in Perak yesterday. After the attacks junglemen went to a nearby Chinese village with blowpipes, shotguns and knives killed four Chinese, including three women, and wounded 12 women and children. Police later rounded up the Sakais. (Sakais arc primitive Malayan aboriginals).
