Snowy River Water

CANBERRA, Thu. (1.25 p.m.)—Commonwealth, New South Wales and Victorian Ministers have decided that the Murray River should receive a third of the water from the Snowy River under the huge hydro-electric and irrigation scheme now under way.

Of 400,000 acre-feet of water to be added to the Murray, 300,000 will be used for irrigation on the New South Wales side of the river.

The remaining two-thirds' of the Snowy River water will be diverted into the Murrumbidgee.
