Bride As Beautiful As 'Dawn In Spring'
TANGIER, Sun. (11 a.m.)—The Caliph of Spanish Morocco (Muley Hassan Ben el Meddi) will be married in Tetuan on June 5 to Princess Lal-lat Fatima Zahra Ben Muley Abd-el-Azid, who is said to be as “beautiful as th© dawn in spring.” There have been feasts and carnivals throughout Spanish Morocco since May 15.
The 21-year-old Princess is a daughter of the late Sultan Muley-Abd-Azib.
The 40-year-old Caliph has not been married before, but one of his sons, Ismael Ben-el-Hassan, bom of a 'woman of the Caliph’s harem, wiU ba present at the wedding. Thousands of guests will be entertained for days in the vast mosaic halls of the Caliph’s palace. /
Allan Loveday, of Palmerston North, gained third place in the Kubelik Prize violin competition, the results of which were announced in Prague. The first prize was won by Igor Berzrodny and the second by Victor Pikaizen, both Russians.
