Northland Awards At Waikato Dairy Show
NORTHLAND dairy companies scored several successes, in the class awards for butter at the Waikato Winter Show, judging for which was completed yesterday. There were 856 entries in the butter section, compared with 733 last year, and 443 entries in the cheese classes, against 305.
D. Cossar (Ruawai Coop Dairy Co., Ltd.) won the Hutt Memorial Shield with 564.7 points in the butter championship class. The shield is awarded to first assistants in the Auckland province. Main championships resulted:— BUTTER Grand Championship Banner, creamery scoring most points in open championship and highest aggregate m provincial competltions.—Masterion Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd. (L. H. Carter, manager), 753 points. Auckland Provincial Championship, box of butter, 28 lb.—New Zealand Co-op. Daily Co. Ltd., Taupiri (A. J. Gary), 657.6 points. CHEESE Grand Championship Banner, highest aggregate in provincial section and open championship.—Cambridge Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd.. Hautapu (W. J. McPhee). 470.8 points.
