Fewer Care With Faulty Lights
A marked decrease in the proportion of motor vehicles in Whangarei with faulty lights was revealed when Transport Department inspectors made thensecond check in the borough last night. Although the first check indicated that about one-third of the cars examined had some lighting faults, - the second check brought the combined percentage of faults for the two nights down to 1..3.
During last night and the previous, night 208 vehicles were examined. It was found that 21 had incorrectly adjusted or faulty headlamps, five had headlamps that were • incorrectly focussed, and 10 had faulty tail or rear number-plate lights. 'Further checks will be made In the Whangarei district. Vehicles in Kaitaia will be similarly examined next Monday and Tuesday, and in Kaikohe on Wednesday or Thursday.
A cixeqk In Dargavilje will be made the following week.
