Completing 22-Mile House Shift

At 9 o'clock this morning began the second stage of a 22-mite long house shift from the corner of Robert and John Streets, Whangarei, to Mr E. J. Brock’s property at Akerama, near Hulcerenui.

The house was shifted in two halves, the first of which left on Tuesday.

Owing to technical problems involved, the house had to be dissected by carpenters. No trouble was experienced with the first half, and all bridges were negotiated without difficulty.

The contractors stale that full cooperation was received from the Transport Department and the Post and Telegraph Department. II is claimed that the removal is 11 10 largest yet to be undertaken in Northland.
