Belavs Plane

Bad weather at Whenuapai this morning prevented the north-bound NAC Electra from taking off.

The weather cleared later in the morning and at 1 p.m. it was expected that one, and perhaps two, planes would arrive at Whangarei on the delayed service. An Auckland message says all planes were grounded at Whenuapai ' this morning and aircraft from the south was held at intermediate airports, owing to thick fog over the Auckland aerodrome.

The fog lifted at 12.20. The aircraft to New Plymouth, which normally leaves at 8.20, was just about to take off.
