Portland School Bring And Buy
A-Succcssful bring and buy was hold in the Portland Hall, resulting in over £6O being raised towards the school social funds. Much of the success was due to generous support given to the trading stalls and to the help freely given by the stall-holders and donators of prizes for the competitions. Competition winners were: — Wood, R. L. Jones; coal, Mrs G. Cotter; smoker’s stand, Beverley McCollum; teddy bear, Michael Jennings; Christinas hamper, E. Robson; doll's cot, Mrs Lomas; electric jug, A. L. Jones; rocking horse, Glenda O'Reilly; flower vase, Mrs F. Wark; shuffle board, men, B. Thompson, .1 A. L. Jones, 2; ladies, A. Warin, 1; J. Thompson, 2; darts. Men, M. L. Jones; ladies, Mrs Grylls; concrete block, Mrs Clarke.
