At Caledonian Centre

A sizeable crowd filled the Waipu Flail last night for the Waipu Highland Fipe Band’s second annual St. Andrew’s night grand concert and dance.

Visitors from far and wide concentrated on Northland’s Caledonian centre, and the Pipe Band’s funds will benefit by about £2l as a result. The band played four items, and Pipe Major G. K. McGregor and Mr R. D McGregor piped solos. Messrs F. Wilkinson and P. Hodsell presented the sword dance and the seantriubhas, and Hazel Campbell’s pupils danced the fling. A piano and banjo duet was given by Messrs P. and H. Fomei'y. Visitoi's fi'om Paparoa sang part songs and presented a olay. During the dance which followed the concert, Mrs J. Dovey and Mr G.
