No Amendments Te Tax Bill
CANBERRA, Fri. (1 p.m.)—The Income Tax Assessment Bill passed all stages in the House of Representatives after the leader of the Country Party (Mr Fadden) unsuccessfully moved a long series of amendments. Mr T. W. White (Liberal) said that in the seven years the Government had been in office it had accepted two amendments from the Opposition. The previous night Mr Chifley had walked into the chamber in the middle of a debate and said: “There will be no amendments,” and walked out again..
