AUCKLAND. Sat. (Sp.).—A request to an Auckland motor firm for a quote for the supply of 150 cars and 250 truck chassis has been made by the Post and Telegraph Department. This request was made three days before the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) announced in Auckland that no more imoprt licences for motor-cars would be issued for the current year. it was specified that the stores weiy: to be suplied from New Zealand stocks or to be produced in New Zealand.

as 30 cars of up to 12 horse-power and 70 over 12 horse-power, as well as various types of heavy vehicle chassis.
