Ram Delays Work On Cape York
1 Rain delayed the unloading of the Cape York at Port Whangarei this morning. With two holds emptied, it is expected that a clear day’s working time will complete the discharge of the 350 tons of cargo remaining.
Waterfront workers were available this morning, and it is hoped that the hatches may after lunch. In the 48 hours to 8 a.m. this morning. ,73in. of rain fell in Whangarei, bringing the total for the month to S.GSin. The fall since the heavy rain began on Friday morning has amounted to 2.98 in.
The temperature remained high, and the warm rain brings about the conditions when facial eczema may break out. The Department of Agriculture issued a warning to farmers in the Waikato district, and the conditions in Northland are now similar.
In spite of the heavy fall no flooding was reported on Northland roads.
