GREAT SUCCESS OF OPERATIC SOCIETY
Formed about six months ago, the Whangarei Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society now has funds amounting to £275. This was reported to a general meeting of members last night by the treasurer (Mr A. C. Raynes), who stated that the recent presentation of “The Boy” the first production, had resulted in a profit of £244/ setting the society firmly on its financial feet. Membership fees had increased this amount, while the society also had assets in stage properties.
Members discussed policy questions, including activities for next year, all being deferred until the forthcoming anual meeting.
