Thuringia President Vanishes Mysteriously

(11.30 a.m.) MAYERBACH, Sept. 5. A Mayerbach car belonging to the missing Minister-President of Thuringia (Dr Rudolf Paul) was found abandoned near Potsdam, says The Times Berlin correspondent. It is known, however, that when Dr Paul on September 1 left a political conference he left in his wife’s less conspicuous Mercedes car. The two cars, with Dr Paul’s interpreter and son in the Meyerbach, were seen headed for Berlin. Later the same day the Mayerbach was found abandoned. There were no traces of the Mercedes which carried Dr Paul and his wife and a police driver.

It is known that Dr Paul recently incurred the displeasure of both the Russians and their associates in the Socialist Unity Party.
