Efforts to compose the differences between the seven party leaders broke down when the leaders walked cut of a meeting over which M. Dimitrios Maximos presided. M. Maximos was reported yesterday as having been named Prime Minister. Statement Denied NEW YORK, Aug. 29. The Governor General of Canada (Field-Marshal Viscount Alexander), when interviewed by the Canadian Press, denied the statement attributed to him in some New York newspapers that the United States should send aid to Greece even if it meant war with Russia. “I said nothing about war with Russia,” he said. “A reporter asked me if the United States should extend aid to Greece and I simply said she had a moral right to do so.”
