Umawera

At the Umawera Women's Institute mee'ing the thought for the month was "Deeds not words.” The roll call was an item. Mrs Anderson, from Utakura, gave a very interesting talk on drama production. The competitions were as follows: Tnree l savouries. Mrs B. Ogle 1, Mrs J. Gray 2; ! kitchen apron. Mrs Leer. 1, Mrs Beale 2. Miss J. Postlewaight 3; stamps, Mrs Beale 1. Mrs Gray 2. Hostesses were Mrs Reed and Mrs Postlewaight. Umawera Women's Institute members wave a party to celebrate their 12th birthday Visitors from Te Karae, Tutekehua, I-lappv Valiev and Horeke were entertained to lunch, the outstanding feature of the table being a large birthday cake, made and decorated by Mrs McDonald. A programme of items and games was enjoj cd.
