i There was a large attendance at the August meeting of the Riponui-Jordan I Women’s Institute. , , ! The roll call. “The country I would like ito visit and why,” was well responded to. A presentation was made to Mrs Fowler who is leaving the district. Mrs Phvn gave nn interesting book review and' during the social hour a short piav was staged by Mrs Wallis and Mrs Laundreau. . Birthday sprays were presented to three members. The winners of the month s competitions were as follows: Shoulder sprays. Mrs Wallis 1. Mrs Thompson 2. Best arranged vase, Mrs D. McDonald 1, Mrs King 2. Ginger nuts. Mrs Walker 1. Mrs A. Christie 2 Something nfw from something old, Mrs D. McDonald 1, Mrs Thompson 2. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Brown and Harris.
