Auckland To Have Police Launch
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland waterfront police have obtained a patrol boat for use oh the Waitemata Harbour. It is to be fitted with two-way wireless.
An announcement to this effect was made by the Commissioner (Mr J. Cummings) yesterday. The launch, authorised to be. pur J chased a month ago, will be formally delivered to the department on Tuesday. The launch is 40ft in length with a speed of 81 knots and is Diesel-pow-ered.
It was taken over from a private owner by the Navy during the war, the purchase price being £2600. 9
