Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowls Champs.
The singles champion of the Whangarei Friendly Societies Indoor Bowls Association for the 1946 season is Wilson, .of the Druids lodge. The champion pair are Farmer and Flewellyn, of the AOF. The winners were decided at this week's tourney at which good form was displayed. In the semi-final of the single, Peattie (Hikurangi) beat Wilding (AOF) and Wilson accounted for Peattie in the final. The champion receives a cup donated by Bro. Thornton.
In the pairs semi-final, Farmer beat Campbell (Hikurangi) and in the final disposed of Taylor and Harold (M.U.) quite comfortably. Farmer.and Flewellyn received buttons given by Bro. Galloway. The association is holding a final night next month when mixed teams from all lodges will be taking part.
