Flood Prevention Plan

(Rec. 130 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Grafton, swept by disastrous floods last week, has submitted a flood prevention and hydro-electric power scheme to the Minister of Conservation (Mr Dunn). Pointing out that the three main streams in the Clarence watershed had been responsible for heavy damage in 1927, 1945 and 1946, the Mayor of Grafton (Mr J. C. O’Brien) said the locking of the streams would solve the flood problem and give enough electric power to serve northern New South Wales and part of Queensland.
