Peron Sweeps Poll In Argentina

<Rec. 2.30 p.m.) NEW YORK.. Mar. 29.

Colonel Feron's electoral vote has been increased to 216. which is 27 more than required for his election as President.

The New York Times Buenos Aires correspondent says Feron's election probably marks the most signal defeat United States diplomacy has suffered in Latin-America for many years. The United States faces the problem whether to recognise Colonel Peron or continue to oppose him. The latter course would threaten to destroy PanAmerican solidarity. Peron. whatever the United States does, faces a thorny road, but the world's need for Argentine food is his greatest trump card.

Colonel Peron's supporters won the governorships of all 14 provinces and also secured a majority of 109 seats to 49 in the Chamber of Deputies and are likely to gain all 30 Senate seats.
